God still saves

“Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah. But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah. I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord sustained me.” Psalms 3:2-5 KJV https://www.bible.com/1/psa.3.2-5.kjv

God still saves

The psalm in today’s Bible reading was written when David was running away from his son who has plotted to take over his throne. There are situations that we go through as children of God that make those around us question or even mock our standing in God. They say things like “Where is the evidence that you serve God?”. But even in the midst of challenges, we must be reminded that God is ever true and his capacity and status can never be defined by our situations. We must look deep and remind ourselves of His many mercies like David who reminded himself that the fact that he slept and woke up was an evidence of God’s sustenance. God is a shield and glory for those who believe in Him and he ultimately lifts our head up from those seemingly bad situations. Then we blossom and shine like gold that has been refined through the fire. Remember that he will never bring our way a temptation that overwhelms. Some of the things we go through are the lessons that strengthen us for the assignments of destiny... but we must always look out for the lessons so that we don’t stay longer than required in the furnace of life. If the gold is not fully refined, it may be put back through the purification process which is not exactly comfortable.

Prayer: Dear God, thank you for the privilege to call you Father. I rest in the confidence that you will arise for me through all my life’s circumstances and make me shine through to your glory with head lifted up in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
