What is it worrh to me?.... A few people can resonate with Esau in today’s Bible reading. With the lens of hunger, he viewed his birthright as meaning nothing to him and so was willing to trade it off without much ado. The Bible says that you should not throw your pearls before pigs (Matt 7:6). Why would anyone throw their precious things before pigs? Well maybe because they don’t recognize the potentials it carries. This often happens in the beginning. The Bible reminds us ....“Do not despise these small beginnings.....”(Zech 4:10). Raw unprocessed gold is still gold and so we must be careful in the beginning and in fact guard our beginnings. What Esau traded casually over pottage was to cost him generational blessings.... Do you recognize your pearls?
