Away from all the drama in his home, the tending of sheep and all other distractions, Jacob had a personal encounter with God. God restated all the promises to his fathers but then gave him specific blessings for himself. He was hearing from Heaven, not just what his parents had handed down to him. As individuals going through life, we sometimes wonder what it is really like to hear from God. To receive specific instructions from God. Often God is in the place and we just did not know it. He has been calling out for a one-on-one chat but we are too busy with distractions. When we set out time for him….Regular commitment in quiet time early in the day, late at night or whenever you can have ‘you and me’ time with your manufacturer through the divine translator the Holy Spirit, then we start to receive insights, promptings in our spirit and even sometimes in audible voices. This even goes up one notch when you go out on a retreat and/or you wait on God in the place of fasting and prayers with a focused mind. Not distracted while communing with God. Then we realize like Jacob that “He is here and I just didn’t know it”. Why don’t you commit to a ‘coming-up-higher’ today. In the presence of God there is fullness of Joy and at his right hand are pleasures for ever. Halleluyah!!!!

Prayer: Dear God, I receive the grace and spirit of obedience to truly seek you. Open my eyes to see you, my ears to listen and my heart to perceive your presence. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
