Is the ark backed by the presence? There are certain symbols that we have become familiar with in the Kingdom - the anointing oil, the cross, communion etc. These are often used as the physical connectors of spiritual impartation. However it is very important that there is the impartation otherwise the artifact in itself is not where the power is. In the Bible reading today, Isreal had been beaten in battle with the philistines so they sent for the ark of God. They were so excited when the ark arrived that their noise rattled the philistines who in turn acknowledged that God had come into the camp and how God had dealt with the Egyptians in the past. However, the Philistines were not going to give up without a fight. They fought and thoroughly won the Isrealites. God was angry with Isreal because of all the sins that were being committed in the temple. The temple had been defiled and to make matters worse the ark had come into the battle field in the company of the prime perpetrators of the abominations on the altar - Eli’s sons. So while the Isrealites may have had the ark, they did not have the presence. This is why sometimes when people continue in a life of sin and yet annoint themselves or wear the sign of the cross, thinking that it would ward of the enemies they are often disappointed. Our God is not a genie put into a bottle and called up whenever you need him. There are criteria for his presence, top of which is holiness. Are you meeting God’s criteria? If the enemy were to test the efficacy of your spiritual claims will they meet with the fire of God? The enemy, the devil will keep trying to find the loophole. Check that you have blocked the holes and that the substance is backed by the presence supported by a life of holiness and obedience.

Prayer: Dear God, I rededicate myself to you today. I ask for your mercy for any contamination. I ask that your presence and impartation come afresh on me today that I may be fortified from the fiery darts of the enemies 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
