Title 190

“And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water. And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren.” Exodus 2:10-11 KJV https://www.bible.com/1/exo.2.10-11.kjv

Title 190

Do you recognize your identity? Even though we live, interact and transact in this world, John 15:19 reminds us that we are not of this world. The Bible reading today speaks to this truth because despite being raised in the palace amongst the Egyptians and with the treasures of Egypt, Moses did not abandon his identity. He may now appear to some as an Egyptian dressed like one but he knew his ‘true tribe’ and was willing to defend ‘a brother’ when the need arose. I would believe that his identity was engrained in him by the nurture that his mother gave to him even though she was being paid by Pharaoh’s daughter to raise her son. She made sure to let him know “who he was”. Question today is. Have you become carried away by the pleasures of the world that you have forgotten your true identity as a child of God with a temporary sojourn here on earth? Are you compromising or trading your kingdom values in order to blend in? Are you looking away from other ‘brothers and sisters’ because you can’t be seen to associate with them? For what price? Remember the world and everything in it passes away and there will be a day of reckoning. Look into the mirror of the word of God today and if you don’t recognize the person that you see in there, then there is a need for a revival today.

Prayer: Dear God, thank you for my spiritual identity. Thank you for the Holy Spirit, the seal of my redemption. Please Lord, in anyway I am not representing my spiritual identity to the world, please open my eyes to see and have mercy on me in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
