“And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near unto him. And he repaired the altar of the Lord that was broken down. And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood. And he said, Do it the second time. And they did it the second time. And he said, Do it the third time. And they did it the third time. And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also with water.” 1 Kings 18:30, 33-35 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/1ki.18.30-35.kjv
God’s miracles eliminates doubt. In the Bible reading today, there was an open contest in the presence of all Isreal between Elijah and the prophets of Baal to see who’s God will answer by fire to accept the sacrifice presented. The prophets of Baal tried but failed. Elijah had so much confidence in God that the most unrealistic situation was created. A trench was dug around the altar and filled with water making it naturally impossible for a fire to start. However, our God who is a consuming fire came down and burnt the soaked offering and dried up all the water. Some situations in a person’s like might look so tough in what appears like a going down further when the logical step would have been a going up. But our God whose ways are far from those of us mortals uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise showing that by strength shall no man prevail. Work with God on the Justification experience and the answers will be undeniably divine!! Glory!!!
