Verify the source of the provision
“And after a time he returned to take her, and he turned aside to see the carcase of the lion: and, behold, there was a swarm of bees and honey in the carcase of the lion. And he took thereof in his hands, and went on eating, and came to his father and mother, and he gave them, and they did eat: but he told not them that he had taken the honey out of the carcase of the lion.” Judges 14:8-9 KJV https://www.bible.com/1/jdg.14.8-9.kjv
Be wary (careful) of the source of gifts and blessings. In the Bible reading today, Samson had seen honey in the carcass of the Lion that he has killed previously and he took of it, enjoyed himself and went to give his parents but did not tell them where he got it from. He was supposed to be consecrated not dealing with unclean things, yet he went to eat from the carcass of an animal, a dead wild beast. He probably did not tell him parents because they may have chastised him. When God asked Adam why he disobeyed him in the garden of Eden, he replied that it was the woman that God gave him but that did not prevent him from being a partaker of the results. The Bible urges us to test all spirits to see if they are of God (1 John 4:1). This is because the Bible also says that the companion of fools shall be destroyed. Not all blessings are from God and we need a discerning spirit inspired by the Holyghost and powered by a constant dwelling in the word of God so that the seeming blessings don’t ultimately destroy the recipient.
Prayer: Dear God, please help me to be sensitive in the spirit. Give me listening ears and seeing eyes and a spirit that is attuned to you so that I can discern the true blessings from you and not be a partaker of a tarnished blessing in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
