Where lies your Help?
“Twenty years old was Ahaz when he began to reign, and reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem, and did not that which was right in the sight of the Lord his God, like David his father. So Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglath–pileser king of Assyria, saying, I am thy servant and thy son: come up, and save me out of the hand of the king of Syria, and out of the hand of the king of Israel, which rise up against me.” 2 Kings 16:2, 7 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/2ki.16.2-7.kjv

The Psalmist says that I will lift up my eyes to the hills from whence comes my help. He acknowledges that his help is of the Lord. In the Bible reading today, the king of Judah Ahaz did not do what was right in the eyes of the Lord and instead decided to tow the part of the rest of Isreal. And so in the time of challenge, he had to reach out to the king of Assyria for help because he had forsaken God the creator of the heaven and the earth. Of course, as a result of that help, he eventually started to serve the gods of the king of Assyria and erected an altar for that God. Question today is: Who is the source of your help? Is God your source?
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for being our ever present help in time of troubles. Please Lord show me the ways daily that I may continue to walk in them so that I can boldly call on you in time of challenges in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
