Are you a Watchman?
“Prepare the table, watch in the watchtower, eat, drink: arise, ye princes, and anoint the shield. For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he seeth.” Isaiah 21:5-6 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/isa.21.5-6.kjv

In the book of Habakkuk, the prophet says that I will stand my watch, and set myself on the tower to watch to see what God will say to me and what I will answer when I am reproved. The Bible also tells us to be sober and vigilant because our adversary the devil goes about looking for whom to devour. It is important especially in our times that we stand our guard as Christian through a live of sober living with a clear-head despite the distractions around us. In the Bible reading today, while the princes were asked to eat and get ready for war, someone needed to be appointed to man the watch tower. Watch towers are usually taller than the buildings around them so they provide a vantage view miles out. Manning the watch tower requires a separation, a coming up higher like the Bible tells us into the realm of the spirit. Also importantly, it involves a readiness and willingness to sound the alarm when a threat is observed. In the book of Ezekiel, God told him that he had been set as a watchman over Israel to declare the words of the Lord and the warnings that he receives. So, are you taking your stand? Or are you in the crowd eating and being merry? Or worse still, do you see the signs of danger and fail to sound the alarm? Take your stand in your generation as a true soldier of Christ.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you are plenteous in mercy and it’s not your desire that sinners perish but that they come to the brightness of your redeeming light. Please Lord, help me to be a worthy partner and messenger in this generation. Help me to see and give me the boldness to speak. Let me be found faithful in my kingdom assignment in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
