Are you checking in?
“And if any beast, of which ye may eat, die; he that toucheth the carcase thereof shall be unclean until the even. And he that eateth of the carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: he also that beareth the carcase of it shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.” Leviticus 11:39-40 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/lev.11.39-40.kjv

Do you recognize when that which is permitted becomes contaminated and no longer acceptable? Do you know when it’s not ok to be in that relationship or association? Do you recognize when good works become lifeless and are deadworks that are unacceptable to God. Do you recognize when the breath of God is no longer in an endeavor? One person in the Bible who had the habit of checking in regularly with God was David. He would ask if it was ok to proceed or go into certain pursuit even when it made logical sense to proceed. But he knew better than to assume that God was in it when in fact he may have left. He avoided the pitfall of Samson who got up to go as usual not realizing that he had become a walking corpse because the life and strength of the calling of God upon his life had left. Moses knew that it was a futile effort to proceed on the journey into the promise land without God’s presence so he pleaded for his presence always. In the Bible reading today, God provided a list of things that the Israelites could or could not eat but what struck me was the fact that even the things that were endorsed to be eaten were forbidden when they became carcasses. God’s instructions are not always blank cheques except he specifically says so. Learn to check in regularly and learn to recognize the signs of deadness as well so that you don’t transition into a contaminated life from something what was previously endorsed as good.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you care about the details of my life. Thank you because you look out for me always. Please continue to show me your ways and give me the grace to live in them. Let me not stray away from your presence into contamination in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
