Are you checking in with God?
“Thus saith the LORD, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren: return every man to his house: for this thing is done of me. And they obeyed the words of the LORD, and returned from going against Jeroboam.” 2 Chronicles 11:4 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/2ch.11.4.kjv

Before you go out to that battle, check in with Lord. David was great in always asking God “Shall I go? Shall I pursue?”. This is because there is nothing as bad as battling with the Lord. In the Bible reading today, after Israel has been split away from Judah and Rehoboam, Solomon’s son was only left with a tiny portion of the kingdom, he wanted to go and fight with them. However, God sent an express warning to him not to go because all that had happened was from God. There is a way that seems right to a man and at the end is destruction. In order to avoid destruction and heartaches then it’s important to stay connected with the one who knows the end from the beginning and can steer you towards his purpose for you. So before you start out on that well-figured plan in your mind, why don’t you borrow a leaf from David and ask “Is it ok to proceed?” or even better still say “Lord please lead me in your path for me”. But before that be sure that your life is in a place where God is indeed able to speak to you and that you can recognize his voice.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your love always. Thank you for leading me according to your will. As I go forth in life, please let me hear your words in my ear and heart telling me that this is the way to go in. Please Lord give the grace to listen so that I can reap the benefits of a life aligned to your will 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
