Are you free or bond?
”If his master have given him a wife, and she have born him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master's, and he shall go out by himself. And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free: then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him for ever.“ Exodus 21:4-6 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/exo.21.4-6.kjv

Are you free or are you under bondage? This clarity drives the level of peace and ownership that you have regarding the blessings in your life. The Bible tells us that the blessings of the Lord makes rich and adds no sorrow to it. And we have been called to stand fast in the liberty that Christ has gotten for us and to no longer be entangled with the yoke of bondage. The Bible reading today gives an example of the travails of bondage. It describes the judgements and practices that were handed down to the Israelites. This instance was with regards to menservants. While there was a provision for the Hebrew servant to go free after 7 years, the condition though was that he could only go out like he came in. If the master married a wife for him then the wife and children remained the master’s and he has to go out alone but if he chooses to stay with his treasure then he agreed to sign up for the bondage forever. This is a great analogy for the benefits that sin, mammon and the devil gives a person while in bondage. Except by the grace of God, such a person often cannot break free from the bondage without loosing the blessings that technically belonged to their Master. Hence the question once again is: Are you in Christ’s freedom or are you under the bondage of sin? The choice is yours today.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your love towards us your creation. Thank you for the liberty that Jesus Christ got for me on the cross of Calvary. Lord, please give me the grace to walk in the complete liberty and let the evidence of your blessings be seen by the world in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
