Are you merciful?

“And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him. But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you as one born among you, and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.” Leviticus 19:33-34 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/lev.19.33-34.kjv

Are you merciful?

Do you remember where you are coming from? Do you show empathy to others who are still on their journey? The Bible tells us that when the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. However, the goal is not to totally forget where we have been. The Bible reading today highlights God’s instructions to the Israelites about dealing with strangers that would come into the land. They were commanded not to vex the strangers and reminded that they were strangers in the Egypt.  Now while they were vexed as strangers in Egypt, they were to remember what it felt like and not do the same to others. Are you leaving others who are in a situation that you were in the past to struggle because you struggled as well? Well, that’s not what God commands. Remember where God has brought you from and be intentional in helping others. Remember the Bible says blessed are those who show mercy for they shall receive mercy. It is an important seed for the future ahead. Connect your past to your glorious future by being intentional in showing mercy.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your faithfulness. Thank you for helping me. Thank you for turning my captivities around. Please give me the grace to be intentional in spreading your love to those around me. Let me not become carried away with the blessing to forget the ordinances of the giver of the blessings. Help me to love like the Father in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾. ‎
