Are you Obedient?

“And ye were now turned, and had done right in my sight, in proclaiming liberty every man to his neighbour; and ye had made a covenant before me in the house which is called by my name: but ye turned and polluted my name, and caused every man his servant, and every man his handmaid, whom he had set at liberty at their pleasure, to return, and brought them into subjection, to be unto you for servants and for handmaids.” Jeremiah 34:15-16 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/jer.34.15-16.kjv

Are you Obedient?

God is not impressed by a public show of obedience followed by secret disobedience. He is upset by the lifting up of holy hands that are followed with an immediate reversal of the action through disobedience and sin. In the Bible reading today, according to God’s instructions to the Israelites to free their slaves every 7th year, the princes of the land has received instruction afresh. They initially cooperated and then thereafter went back to get the slaves back.  This made God angry and he pronounced very steep judgement on the land. The Bible says that he who lays his hands on the plough and looks back is not fit for the kingdom of God. However, our God is plenteous in mercy and his mercy prevails over judgement. So have you looked back from following his instructions, then take his offer of a second chance and run back into him before it’s too late.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you are a kind and merciful God. Lord, I repent of every act of disobedience to your instructions and your will. Please let your mercy prevail over judgement and please help me back into the center of your will in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
