Are you rubbing off the unclean?

“These are unclean to you among all that creep: whosoever doth touch them, when they be dead, shall be unclean until the even. And upon whatsoever any of them, when they are dead, doth fall, it shall be unclean; whether it be any vessel of wood, or raiment, or skin, or sack, whatsoever vessel it be, wherein any work is done, it must be put into water, and it shall be unclean until the even; so it shall be cleansed. And every earthen vessel, whereinto any of them falleth, whatsoever is in it shall be unclean; and ye shall break it.” Leviticus 11:31-33 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/lev.11.31-33.kjv

Are you rubbing off the unclean?

Uncleanliness by association. The Psalmist says “Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly”Ps 1:1. As children of God, we must be careful of those whose company’s we consistently keep as the Bible tells us that the companion of fools shall be destroyed (Prov 13:20). There is a kind of proximity that facilitates a robbing off, a repetition that creates a habit. In the Bible reading today, God gave the Isrealites instructions on the sort of animals that they could eat. However, even if they did not eat some of the ‘unclean’ animals, any contact with the carcass of such animals was deemed as uncleanliness to the extent that some vessels that could not be cleaned (earthen vessels) are to be broken as a result of the contact. Hence, we are admonished in 2 Corinth 6:17 to “come out from amongst them and be ye separate”. Check your associations today so that you don’t become unclean by association.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your word. Thank you for the constant reminders of your expectation of holiness. Please God grant me a discerning spirit to be able to tell the right association from those who lead towards ungodliness so that I am not consumed due to wrong associations 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
