Can you withstand it?

“The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings? He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;” Isaiah 33:14-15 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/isa.33.14-15.kjv

Can you withstand it?

The psalmists asks a question: “Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who shall stand in his holy place?”. He then tells us that it is the one that has clean hands, and a pure heart; who has not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. The Lord is a consuming fire yet the fire in his presence refines those whose works are golden. Same fire but different outcomes depending on the one who approaches the fire.  The Bible reading today also points to this fact by highlighting that on the Lord’s day of intervention, the sinners are afraid whereas a category of people are able to dwell in the fire of the Lord. They are those that walk righteously and are upright in their speech and do not entertain evil. So the question for you today is: Can you stand in the fire of the presence of the Lord? The consuming fire is also a refiner’s fire. Choose wisely.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you are the refiner’s fire to those who are upright before you. Please Lord, open my eyes to see any debris in me that may be standing in the way of me coming boldly into your presence. Help me Lord and let my life be refined through the fire of your presence into gold that shines for the world to see in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾. ‎
