Cherish God's Words
“Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: and they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.” Amos 8:11-12 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/amo.8.11-12.kjv

Appreciate the word of God. Cherish his words because they are critical anchors in life. Don’t be lost at the sea of life due to a disconnection from the compass of life. The Bible tells us in the book of Isaiah to seek the Lord while he may be found. In the Bible reading today, amongst the many woes that was being pronounced on Israel, something profound was mentioned. It is the fact that there was going to be a famine of God’s word. Typically, when Israel gets into trouble from their carelessness and sinful ways, they go seeking for God and in his mercies he often gives a way out. Well, because of their persistence in their cycles of rising and falling, God was now saying to them that they would not even find the word when they are looking for it. In a world so uncertain and perverse, you cannot afford to loose the guidance of the word of God. Why was he withdrawing his words from them? It was because they constantly ignored his words when they felt that things were going their way. This is a warning to us all. Obey God’s word in all situations. It should not be just a fall back option when your grand plans fail. You may be surprised not to find it when you feel that you need it the most. Cherish your treasures so that you don’t lose them.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Please Lord, I repent of any past acts of disobedience. I seek your guidance Lord. Please don’t let your words be scarce to me in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
