Complete obedience?
โBut Saul and the people spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of the fatlings, and the lambs, and all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them: but every thing that was vile and refuse, that they destroyed utterly. And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.โ 1 Samuel 15:9, 24 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/1sa.15.9-24.kjv
The Bible tells us that obedience is better than sacrifice. We also know that 99% obedience is still disobedience especially when the 1% is the critical path to make the assignment fulfill its purpose. In the chapter of the Bible reading today, God had given Saul an instruction through Samuel to fully deal with the Amalekites. However, in obedience to the voice and thoughts of the people, Saul did not fully complete the assignment. He was more concerned with acceptance of the people than obeying fully the one who brought the assignment in the first place. Question today is: What is your priority? To please God or political correctness? It is very important that the Masterโs instruction be carried out fully to ensure that efforts donโt go to waste.
Prayer: Dear God, I receive the grace for boldness and complete obedience to your instructions despite the popular voices of opposition. ๐๐พ๐๐พ๐๐พ
