Do you know the conditions?
“And the Lord said unto him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there for ever; and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually. But if ye shall at all turn from following me, ye or your children, and will not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods, and worship them: Then will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all people:” 1 Kings 9:3, 6-7 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/1ki.9.3-7.kjv

Wait!!! Before you cash that spiritual cheque, have you read the conditions? It’s not a blank cheque… Often as Christians, we love to quote the blessings and promises in the Bible but sometimes miss the underlying conditions. The ‘if statements. In the Bible reading today, God was impressed with Solomon and came back to him to confirm that he had heard all the prayers regarding the temple. He had hallowed the temple that was built and sealed it with his presence. How exciting can that be! But then he adds, if the children of Isreal and their king went chasing after other gods, diverting God’s glory to lesser beings, that he (God) will despise the very same temple to the point that it would be a proverb for generations to come. According to other verses in the chapter, the disrepute would be so much that people could not miss it. I am certain that some of us may be able to identify great individuals used of God and yet fell from a very great height. The walk with God is not a one-off, done and dusted affair. It is a continuous and intentional effort. So, have you read the conditions precedent for that blessing that God is bringing your way… Note… Terms and conditions apply!!
Prayer: Dear God, thank you for your love and the constant assurance of your presence. Please Lord help me to stay focused and not be carried away by the gift that I forget the giver. Let me not be a discarded kingdom vessel in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
