Do you recognize what you have?
”And it came to pass, when Rachel had born Joseph, that Jacob said unto Laban, Send me away, that I may go unto mine own place, and to my country. Give me my wives and my children, for whom I have served thee, and let me go: for thou knowest my service which I have done thee. And Laban said unto him, I pray thee, if I have found favour in thine eyes, tarry: for I have learned by experience that the LORD hath blessed me for thy sake.“ Genesis 30:25-27 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/gen.30.25-27.kjv

Do you recognize the authority and access that you have? Or are you being a willing captive? The Bible reading today provides yet another interesting conversation between Joseph and his father-in-law. After having so many children over the years, Jacob approached his father-in-law to send him away into his own land. He was asking him to release his wives and children for whom he had served. The initial negotiation was for the wives so it is interesting that Jacob is alluding to his children being part of the agreement. The interesting part though is the acknowledgement from Laban that he had been blessed because of Jacob and he was in fact pleading that they don’t leave. So it almost feels like a willful captivity of Jacob’s end. When you looks at your life’s situations, are there certain willful captive status that you continue to maintain because you don’t recognize your status in Christ? The good news is that the Bible tells us that even the lawful captives will be delivered. So even if you signed yourself away into captivity, the grace of God is available for deliverance. Seek for his mercy and enter into his grace today.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you are our deliverer, strong tower and defender. I ask today for your mercy for every lawful or unlawful captivity in my mind and spirit. Please deliver me and help me to flourish in the liberty that has been gotten for me in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
