Don't be a party to evil
“For thy violence against thy brother Jacob shame shall cover thee, and thou shalt be cut off for ever. In the day that thou stoodest on the other side, in the day that the strangers carried away captive his forces, and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even thou wast as one of them.” Obadiah 1:10-11 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/oba.1.10-11.kjv

Don’t be a co-conspirator against a child of God, against a fellow brethren even when their challenges are divinely orchestrated. If you are unsure, just pray for them or intercede on their behalf. This is because when God arises to fight for them, you don’t want to be trapped in the cross hairs. The ways of the kingdom are so deep and requires caution. Sometimes, God allows his children to undergo some issues when they err and refuse to repent. Sometimes, the issue may be a trial of patience and trust. However, often the vessel of punishment gets their own serving of the punishment especially when it starts to get into their head that their power gave them victory over their target. Jesus said to his disciples that surely offences will come but woe unto him through which it comes. In the Bible reading today, punishment was being pronounced on Edom because they joined forces with the enemies of Israel. They were cheering in the face of Israel’s challenge. They were rejoicing when Israel was taken captive. Sometimes, as Christians we see a fellow believer go through one challenge or the other and rather than seek God’s face, we are happy. We say things like ‘holier than thou’. Be careful, you don’t want to be a recipient of God’s vengeance when they call to God for mercy and he arises and fights for them. Caution is important.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you are a just judge who is yet plenteous in mercies. Please Lord, help me to focus continually on you and not be distracted by the things around me. Help me not to stray into the company of those who gather to do evil. Please order my steps and preserve my life in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
