Don't be casual

“O Lord, I beseech thee, let now thine ear be attentive to the prayer of thy servant, and to the prayer of thy servants, who desire to fear thy name: and prosper, I pray thee, thy servant this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man. For I was the king's cupbearer.” Nehemiah 1:11 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/neh.1.11.kjv

Don't be casual

The Bible tells us to trust in the Lord with all of our heart and not to lean on our own understanding because when we acknowledge him, he directs our path. We see that in the Bible reading today, where Nehemiah, the king of Persia’s cup bearer was settling in the spiritual assignment that he was about to undertake in the physical to approach the king regarding the restoration of Jerusalem. He was leveraging the principle recorded in the Bible which says that the king’s heart is in God’s hands and he turns it in whatsoever direction that he pleases.  Nehemiah did not take for granted his proximity to the king, as his cup bearer, to go forth without spiritual preparation knowing that it could be disastrous. Similar to Esther who required the people to wait on God in the place of prayer while she went forward to engage her husband the king in the most extraordinary manner. So, are you about to take on an assignment that is critical? Don’t take for granted the physical ‘seeming proximity’. Conquer the assignment in the spiritual and the physical will be a walk over provided it’s according to God’s will and will bring glory to him.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you are our Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the way maker. Father, I commit the journeys and assignments ahead into your hands. Please go before me to make every crooked way straight in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
