In Psalms 103:7, the Bible records that God made known his ways to Moses and his acts to the Israelites.. A rich / successful person usually has a lot of friends - a lot of them for the benefits and only a very few for the relationship and true friendship. Hence those who are in it for the benefits are quick to move on to the next big thing. The danger of always “following the money” as some call it is that such a person may eventually fall for a counterfeit or dangerous person. Majority of the children of Isreal were more bothered about the provisions and miracles from God that they had moved on to the next thing - the golden calf - when Moses tarried with God when he was receiving the commandments the first time. To tie this back to the reading today, the people of the earth were deceived by the supposed miracles that the beast was able to do and they ultimately were lured unto taking the mark of the beast. We need to examine ourselves today.. Are we with God for the relationship and long-term benefits? Or do we just pack up and move to the next ministry in town when it looks like the ‘candies’ and ‘gifts’ don’t appear to be arriving as quickly as before? Part of that is the growing up process. While an infant gets a bottle of milk every time he cries, you cannot afford to do that to a 10-year old or teenager. Let’s re-examine ourselves... the walk ultimately has the works (miracles) as a side benefit; but a chase of the works without the walk may lead down a deadly path, similar to how kidnappers lure children away with candies...

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to know your ways that I might walk in them and not be deceived by temporary benefits in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
