Don't be unprepared
“And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand hath saved me. Now therefore go to, proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, Whosoever is fearful and afraid, let him return and depart early from mount Gilead. And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten thousand.” Judges 7:2-3 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/jdg.7.2-3.kjv

God does not need an army of men to drive his divine mandate. In fact, he often makes use of the foolish things of this world to confound the wise. So that there is no debate about where the victory has come from. God tells us that he will not share his glory with any man. In today’s Bible reading, we see how he emphasized to Gideon that he needed a smaller army to deliver the victory against an army that was said to look like an army of grasshoppers in the valley and their camels like sands on the beach. God delivered the victory through 300 men because they had the Lord of host fighting for them. The criteria with which God filtered the army was interesting. He started by weeding out the fearful and then the non-vigilant. As instruments in the hands of God, we must be willing and have trust in the commander of the army. Also, the Bible enjoins us to watch and pray. And so we must always remain vigilant. Above all, the Bible tells us that the horse is prepared for the day of battle but safety is of the Lord. Obey His instructions and trust him into victory.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you are the Lord of Host, the Almighty God. Thank you for consistently fighting our battles for us. I look to you afresh. Please guide me into my victory to the glory of your name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
