The Bible tells us not to despise the corrections and warning of God because it’s only a child that the father loves that he corrects. Often, we can think back to some stern warnings or discipline or punishment received as a child which while considered wickedness at the time turned out to be guardrails that have saved us as adults from ‘destruction’ or enabled success. The Bible reading today paints the picture of Isreal’s continual stubbornness in the face of correction and reproof from the Lord. This was driven by the uncircumcision of their ears and heart.  It is therefore important to continue to take time to reflect on the state of our spiritual being. How circumcised and sanctified are we to be able to tap into heaven’s frequency to discern God’s instructions and warnings? The danger of an uncircumcised heart is the scenario of living in blissful ignorance of impending challenges because of the inability to see clearly or decipher the early warning signs. Purify your heart today and experience the peace and clarity of a heavenly-guided life.

Please Lord, open our hearts and eyes to see in any areas that we have like the prodigal son wandered blindly into the hold of sin and destruction.
