Don't go back on your Vows
“When thou shalt vow a vow unto the Lord thy God, thou shalt not slack to pay it: for the Lord thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee. But if thou shalt forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in thee. That which is gone out of thy lips thou shalt keep and perform; even a freewill offering, according as thou hast vowed unto the Lord thy God, which thou hast promised with thy mouth.” Deuteronomy 23:21-23 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/deu.23.21-23.kjv

Are you keeping your vows unto the Lord. Often in the heat of excitement or in the midst of despair we make promises and vows to God. Very quickly once events take over, we forget, whereas a record has been made in Heaven. In fact, often the Holy Spirit will bring to our remembrance those things that we said and we often dismiss it as “I’ll get to it later”. This is very dangerous as we are told in the Bile reading today and others that it is a sin not to repay a vow unto the Lord. Moreover, it must be done as a free will offering and not out of compulsion because God loves a cheerful giver. He made the whole world and the cattle on the thousand hills belong to him, silver and gold are his so you cannot be giving him the vow as though he is a beggar. Recall that you made the vow to God in the first place. Be thoughtful about your vows and make sure to keep them so that it will be well with you.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for always being my shield and defender. Please help me Lord to fulfill my promises to you through the prompting of the HolySpirit and the provision to keep them and let the blessings be manifest in my life 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
