Do you recognize your ‘warning runway’? The Bible tells us in Proverbs 29:1 that “He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy”. This was the case of Judah in the Bible reading today. They had degenerated so badly in their evil and corrupt practices and despite the various captivities, they continued in their ways. Because of God’s special love for them as a result of the convenant established with their fathers, he kept sending warnings to them but they were mocking them until God’s anger got to a point where there was no remedy. At that point, they realized that the captivity that they were dealing with to that point and to which they had acclimatized was child’s play.  The punishment that came upon them this time included the killing of so many of them and their children and the burning down of the temple. All these because they remained stiffnecked in the face of warnings until there was no remedy. This probably resonates with what is going on in the world today. Some have been warned repeatedly to live a holy life because Jesus is coming soon but a lot have normalized that message and think that it will not happen. Be reminded that at the last blast of the trumpet, your repentance no longer matters as the left behinds would have a great tribulation to deal with.  So, take your general and individual warnings seriously while there is still a runway of forgiveness.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your lovingkindness and faithfulness always. Thank you for always steering me through the HolySpirit. I repent of every past act of stubbornness. Please have mercy on me and don’t let me be consumed in your wrath in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
