Don't stay in sin
“Woe to you who are at ease in Zion, And trust in Mount Samaria, Notable persons in the chief nation, To whom the house of Israel comes! Woe to you who put far off the day of doom, Who cause the seat of violence to come near; Who drink wine from bowls, And anoint yourselves with the best ointments, But are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.” Amos 6:1, 3, 6 NKJV https://bible.com/bible/114/amo.6.1-6.NKJV

What is the source of your peace? Is it the peace that comes from your relationship with God, the kind that passes all understanding? Or is the peace that comes from a trust in material things, wealth and your connections in the midst of sin? The Bible reading today talks about those that are at peace in Zion whereas the city continues to live in sin. They are content in the comforts of today that they are distracted from realizing how badly they are dropping on God’s scale. It’s like a volcano that is warming up to erupt and yet the people are unaware and so are going about their day to day business. Are you in a land where there is so much disobedience and perverseness? Then you should not be comfortable because it is a ticking time bomb. Our God is slow to anger but when he does finally move against a nation or people, the result is disastrous. So again, don’t be at peace in the midst of sin. Take up a plea for mercy with the body of saint and be a voice of warning in the land. You may be an instrument of deliverance from utter destruction.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you a just God who is plenteous in mercy. Lord, I come before you afresh, please purge me of any unrighteousness and let my life be pleasing to you. Also Lord, for the sake of the elect, please have mercy on our land in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
