Don't walk out of your preservation

“Ye stand this day all of you before the LORD your God; your captains of your tribes, your elders, and your officers, with all the men of Israel, that thou shouldest enter into covenant with the LORD thy God, and into his oath, which the LORD thy God maketh with thee this day: that he may establish thee to day for a people unto himself, and that he may be unto thee a God, as he hath said unto thee, and as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.” Deuteronomy 29:10, 12-13 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/deu.29.10-13.kjv

Don't walk out of your preservation

You have a part to play to sustain and extend the covenants over you. In today’s Bible reading, after detailing the various blessings for obedience to the commandments that they had received and the curses for disobedience, the Israelites were asked to enter into a covenant with God to enable them fully inherit and flourish in the land. This was an extension of the promises that God had given to their patriarchs.  God was bringing them into the promised land as he had said many years before that. However, retaining their dominion was not a blanket check, they had a role to play. The most important was to stay away from the corruptions of the previous occupants and not to follow their gods. Some Christians have many promises speaking over their lives, possibly from praying parents. However, those can get you only so far. Our God is a God of principles and while he is often long suffering, his judgement can be swift.  So do you want to thrive in your inheritance? Then keep to the terms of the covenant. It is a preservation.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your faithfulness always. Thank you because you are promise-keeper. Lord, please help me to thrive in your promises over my life. Teach me your ways continually and give me the grace to walk in them in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾. ‎
