God's delight, the secret to success
“And keep the charge of the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself: That the Lord may continue his word which he spake concerning me, saying, If thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee (said he) a man on the throne of Israel.” 1 Kings 2:3-4 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/1ki.2.3-4.kjv
The true secret to success is God’s delight in a man. The Bible says to us that when a man’s ways pleases God, even his enemies will be at peace with him (Prov 16:7). In today’s Bible reading, David was about to die after 40 years of ruling in Judah and Isreal and he was handing the secret of his success to Solomon his son. God is an ally that is sure to breakthrough even the toughest and hardest barriers as seen in the life of David. And God specifically promised David that his children after him will be on the throne as long as they sought God with all their hearts. So the key is walking in God’s ways but the underlying assumption is that the way is known. So, question today is: Do you know God’s ways? Are you meditating in his words to know his expectations? Are you leveraging the living translator - the Holy Spirit? It’s a worthy investment to seek to answer these questions in the affirmative because there in lies the secret sauce for true success.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your promise of your presence at all times. Please Lord, show me your ways. Open my eyes to see and ears to hear. Give me a discerning heart to know what you will have me do at all times. I receive the grace for obedience and sensitivity to the prompting of the HolySpirt so that I may indeed unlock uncommon and true success for life in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
