Do you know how to distinguish the word of God from those of the proxy? A charged wire is only dangerous when there is electricity flowing through it. That a person is used by God does not mean that everytime they speak, it is of God. In the Bible reading today, God had used a young prophet to tell King Jeroboam what would befall him. God even performed instant miracles through the prophet when the king’s hand dried up when trying to attack him and the hand also got healed when he sought God’s face. Yet for all the power and annointing he fell for the lie of the old prophet who gave him an instruction that was contrary to a direct instruction that he had received from God. The irony however, is that despite being the reason for the young prophets disobedience, God still spoke though the old prophet to condemn the young prophet to a shameful death. You wonder where the place of respect is? The young prophet was honoring the old prophet right? But in the order of authority, there is God and then every other person. God spoke to him directly previously and records showed that when he sought God he answered. So at the point of receiving the counter instruction, he could have used the access he had to God to verify. When you get instructions that seem contrary to God’s directions for you or in his word, do you verify? The caveat though is that you must be tuned to the frequency of God always so that you can discern when he is speaking. Are you connected?

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for life. Thank you for your word always. Please Lord, help me to stay connected to you always. Teach me to know your ways and your voice. So that I would not fall victim of wrong instructions in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
