Going out as before?
“And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord, and forgat the Lord their God, and served Baalim and the groves. Therefore the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of Chushan–rishathaim king of Mesopotamia: and the children of Israel served Chushan–rishathaim eight years.” Judges 3:7-8 KJV https://www.bible.com/1/jdg.3.7-8.kjv
“Then she called, "Samson, the Philistines are upon you!" He awoke from his sleep and thought, "I'll go out as before and shake myself free." But he did not know that the LORD had left him” (Judges 16:20).... One indicator that you likely have derailed from the path of God is when battles that would have been mere walk-overs begin to overthrow you and make rubbish of you and your past victories. The risk sometimes is when we take on those battles without a full appreciation that the presence of God has departed like the case of Samson after he lost the symbol of his concentration and separation unto God. In the Bible reading today, after many victories, the children of God were now taken into servitude to the kings around them because they had entertained sin. Remember the ordeal of the Isrealites in the hands of the ‘little Ai’ because Achan had taken the accursed thing. Reflect on your life today. Are there patterns in which battles previously won now throw you off balance? Are you failing in the face of life’s challenges that would not have fazed you in the past? Take time out to verify that you are indeed still on the walk with God. If not, ask for mercy today...
Prayer: Dear Lord, restore unto me the joy of my salvation... Restore unto me the peace that passers all understanding backed by the assurance of your presence. Restore victories unto me in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
