Has Worship become a lifestyle?
“Go thou near, and hear all that the Lord our God shall say: and speak thou unto us all that the Lord our God shall speak unto thee; and we will hear it, and do it. And the Lord heard the voice of your words, when ye spake unto me; and the Lord said unto me, I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoken unto thee: they have well said all that they have spoken. O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!” Deuteronomy 5:27-29 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/deu.5.27-29.kjv

Is your worship and reverence of God driven by one time encounters or is it a lifestyle. The Bible tells us that we are created for God’s pleasure and that is not on a one-time basis but continually. In the Bible reading today, Moses was reminding the Israelites of their encounter with God at mount Horeb where they heard God speak out of the fire. It was so overwhelming for them at the time that they feared for their lives since they had seen God speak as he gave them the commandments. As a result of that encounter, they were humbled and asked Moses to spare them of that encounter but that he should go hear God and they committed to obeying. Now, God appreciated their humility but was more concerned about its sustainability as his intention for man is that we obey him always and teach our children coming after the same. But we know that the Israelites did not meet this criteria and suffered for it. Often as Christians, when we go through certain encounters or experience certain deliverance, we make all the promises in the world to do God’s will but shortly after we often return to status quo and our comfort zones. So the question today is: Do you obey God’s instruction daily? Do you still commit to his worship and service like it was at the time of that encounter?
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your deliverances always. Thank you for the assurance of your presence. Please Lord show me your ways and help me to walk in them continually so that my life will please you always 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
