Have you made God your trust?
“The great temptations which thine eyes have seen, the signs, and those great miracles: Yet the Lord hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day. And I have led you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes are not waxen old upon you, and thy shoe is not waxen old upon thy foot. Ye have not eaten bread, neither have ye drunk wine or strong drink: that ye might know that I am the Lord your God.” Deuteronomy 29:3-6 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/deu.29.3-6.kjv

“That you may know that I am God” is a very powerful statement. The Bible reading today sums up the forty years of journeying through the wilderness for a journey that would have taken days/weeks as God’s way of making Israel recognize His Lordship. Recall that when they were in valley of Eschol and were instructed to go in and take the promised land, they second-guessed God to the point of wanting to go back to Egypt. So, God promised them that for every day that they spent scoping out the promised land they would spend a year in the wilderness. To what end - That they may know. The Bible recorded the story of Nebuchadnezzar who after wandering in the wild for seven years like an animal regained his sanity when he looked up to Heaven (Daniel 4:34). This would then suggest that the advice given in Prov 3:5 to trust in the Lord with all your heart and acknowledge him in all your ways is indeed a critical survival nugget to avoid wasted time and years. So the question for you today is: In what aspect of your life are you contesting God’s Lordship? What is he asking you to do and you are second-guessing his ability to sustain you? Where are you taking the reins whereas he is being asking you to hand over? You need to repent today and retrace your steps so that you don’t enter the journey of being ‘made to know’ or that you come out of that journey quicker if you already see the evidence of the struggle and dryness that is reminiscent of the time of the Israelites in the wilderness or other such examples.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you reign in all the affairs of the world that you created. Thank you for your interest in me. Please Lord, I acknowledge your Lordship, help my unbelief. Please don’t make me to “know” the hard way that you are indeed the lord and master of my destiny🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
