Hold on to God's Promise
“Now these are the kings of the land, which the children of Israel smote, and possessed their land on the other side Jordan toward the rising of the sun, from the river Arnon unto mount Hermon, and all the plain on the east: And these are the kings of the country which Joshua and the children of Israel smote on this side Jordan on the west, from Baal-gad in the valley of Lebanon even unto the mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir; which Joshua gave unto the tribes of Israel for a possession according to their divisions; the king of Tirzah, one: all the kings thirty and one.” Joshua 12:1, 7, 24 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/jos.12.1-24.kjv

After many years of waiting in the wilderness, final victory for Israel in the promised land almost felt like a hurricane passed through the former occupants of the land, as highlighted in today’s Bible reading. This speaks to the beauty of perfect divine timing and the important of trusting the owner of the instruction to go forward at his command. This was a land that was observed to be flowing with milk and honey 40 years prior but for which the faith of their fathers at the time could not take on the promise because they felt like grasshoppers in their own eyes. However, at the fullness of time after weeding out the faithless generations and teaching them obedience and complete reliance on him through their experiences in the circling period in the wilderness, God eventually showed them that one powered by God can indeed chase a thousand. Has God promised? Then trust him and follow his instructions. The fulfillment of the promise will be amazing to even you the carrier of the promise.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you are a covenant-keeping God. The God who is strong in battle and mighty to save. Lord, I come before you in complete obedience. Fulfill your promise in my life in your time and help me to wait on you till I enter into my promise in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
