How are you following God?
”When Jesus heard of it, he departed thence by ship into a desert place apart: and when the people had heard thereof, they followed him on foot out of the cities. And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.“ Matthew 14:13-14 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/mat.14.13-14.kjv

How resolute are you in following God? Is it only when it’s convenient or do you go out of your comfort zone? The Bible tells in Mark 7 of a Syrophenician woman who came to Jesus asking for his help to heal her demon-possessed daughter. It was in a place where Jesus had hoped to come in quietly but she managed to be aware and made her request. While she initially received a No from Jesus on the basis that the miracles were reserved for children, her persistence and humility in being willing to ‘eat from the crumbs of the children’s table’ earned her Jesus’ compassion and she received her miracle. Though unqualified, she left with her miracle. There are other instances in the Bible such as the parable of the judge who was pestered all the time till he got judgement for the woman who was pestering. With that we were reminded in the Bible that if an unjust judge can do that, how much more our faithful and all-sufficient God. In the Bible reading today, we see the instance of Jesus withdrawing into a desert place due to the prevailing circumstance in the city at the time. However, people followed him into the desert and the Bible records that he was moved with compassion and healed their sick. As an added perk, they partook in the miracle of the feeding of the multitude with the five loaves of bread and two fishes. Consistency and persistence in following God pays. Don’t give up before your change comes.
