how are you honoring God?
“A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the LORD of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name? And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? offer it now unto thy governor; will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person? saith the LORD of hosts.” Malachi 1:6, 8 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/mal.1.6-8.kjv

Do you honor God? If yes, then where is the evidence of the honor? Do you offer him the best of you and your resources or do you give me the remnant after attending to everything else? Do you give him quality or do you just give him whatever? In the Bible reading today, God talks about the fact that his children dishonor him and then wonders why we ask about how we dishonor him. He then proceeds to give examples of how his altar is polluted by the quality of the offering that we present. And so the question for you is what is the quality of what you offer God. Your time, your energy, your resources, your commitment etc. is it wholesome or disabled? Are you distracted in the presence of God and yet you check the box about going to church. Note that God is insulted when you offer to him carelessly that which he gave to you in the first place. Reevaluate your sacrifices unto God. Ask that he accepts you and accepts your offering so that the blessings of obedience and sacrifice will be evident in your life.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your patience and lovingkindness. Thank you for the constant guidance in your word on your expectations of us as your children. Please Lord help me. Please open my eyes to see where I have been falling short of your expectations for me and help me to retrace my steps in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
