Are you proud of your relationship with your Heavenly Father? Is it evident in your secular job and association? Or is the relationship only for the closet or when you are in church? In the Bible reading today, Jesus sounds a note of warning on the topic. He tells us that if we confess Jesus before men then he will confess us before the father. However, if we deny him before men we will be denied before the father. This is very important because it has consequences here on earth but more importantly for our eternal home. The Bible asks us what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul.  Hence, if the reason that you are ashamed of your relationship with God is for earthly gain then be reminded that all of that pales in comparison to a life of eternity. Secondly, the Lord holds the cattle on the thousand hills and he rules in the affairs of men. Hence, he is able to overturn the normal principles of man in his favor. Furthermore, he holds the keys to the lives of those whom you are desperately trying to impress by denying God. So there are no guarantees of even the earthly benefits for which we so desperately trade-off our eternal home and peace. Choose wisely.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your mercies that endures forever and are new every morning. Please Lord, I come before you seeking mercy for any time that I have not held up my head for you in the midst of the people. Please forgive me and grant me the boldness to confess you even before the highest office of the land and let the benefits be evident in my life in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
