Is God your last resort?
“And it came to pass, when king Hezekiah heard it, that he rent his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the LORD. And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up unto the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD.” Isaiah 37:1, 14 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/isa.37.1-14.kjv

Where is your first port of call when life’s situations knock. Do you take it to God first or do you resort to God when all else has failed. In today’s Bible reading, in response to the threats from the king of Assyria, king Hezekiah took the messages to God first. This was particularly important because the king of Assyria insulted the capacity of God to save his people. Sometimes, challenges come our way to test our faith in God. Do you cower in fear or try to cut a leniency deal with the enemy? Or do you come boldly into the presence of God to table it before him? Your first reactions stem from the sort of relationship that exists between you and God. If you have an ongoing Ally relationship then clearly he hears first hand whatever is troubling before you take it to the people around you. Besides, the relationship affords you the privilege of a deeper understanding of God’s capacity in which case you tell you big God about your problems because you know that he is more than able to deal with it. So, what is your first reaction in the murky waters of life? If it’s not always God first then it’s time for a rethink and establishment of a relationship that makes him first in all.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you are the great and mighty God who had made the heavens your throne and the earth your footstool. I come before you afresh today and lay all my worries and troubles at your feet. Arise O Lord and silence every troubler of my soul in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
