Is the Fear of God truly in you?

“But the former governors that had been before me were chargeable unto the people, and had taken of them bread and wine, beside forty shekels of silver; yea, even their servants bare rule over the people: but so did not I, because of the fear of God. Yea, also I continued in the work of this wall, neither bought we any land: and all my servants were gathered thither unto the work.” Nehemiah 5:15-16 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/neh.5.15-16.kjv

Is the Fear of God truly in you?

The fear of the Lord should make a difference. The Bible tells us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. When you fear the Lord, the choices that are made should show a marked difference from those who do not. In the Bible reading today, we see the account of Nehemiah and how he was correcting the Jews who were dealing toughly with their fellow brethren and making life unbearable for them. He wraps up by showing his own examples of the sacrifices that he made as a governor to the people because of his fear of the Lord and the focus on God’s assignment - the rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem.  Key question today is: When you look at your life and dealings, what choices show to the world that you indeed fear the Lord? How much like Paul said does the love of God constrain you? Remember, we are the image of God that some people see. What do they see through you?

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for redeeming my soul. Thank you for your love always. Father, as I go about my daily activities, please minister to me through your word and the Holy Spirit and help me to be a glorious example of a kingdom life so that the glory can come to you always in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
