Is your decision criteria aligned with God's?

“And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar. Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other.” Genesis 13:10-11 KJV https://www.bible.com/1/gen.13.10-11.kjv

Is your decision criteria aligned with God's?

How do you evaluate your decisions? What are your success criteria? .... The Bible says in Proverbs 14:12 that “There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death”. This is why we must always trust God for every move and not just judge based on the look and feel. In the Bible reading today, Lot was excited about how the Land looked that he quickly opted for the sumptuous land. Only, the decision led him into the company of the wicked in Sodom and Gomorrah. We know that later, he would only be able to escape with his life and daughters from the destruction that befell the land. So, not only did he not eventually get the full benefits he perceived at the beginning but he also lost the things he went into the relationship with because we know that up to this point in the Bible reading that he was a wealthy man already. So, before you make that decision or enter into that deal or relationship today, ask your self “Am I judging by God’s criteria?”, “Is this aligned with His will?”. The good things of life are great. But we must be aligned with the plans of the one who knows the end from the beginning. Many have taken roads that seemed laced with opportunities only to discover down that road that conditions attached to maintaining such a life ultimately turns all those great opportunities to distress.

Prayer: Dear Lord, please direct my path. Let me not fish in troubled waters in life and in destiny 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
