The heart posture?
“And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of meeting, and came out and blessed the people. Then the glory of the Lord appeared to all the people, and fire came out from before the Lord and consumed the burnt offering and the fat on the altar. When all the people saw it, they shouted and fell on their faces.” Leviticus 9:23-24 NKJV https://bible.com/bible/114/lev.9.23-24.NKJV

God’s presence and blessing upon our sacrifices and service is what makes the difference. It separates ordinary motions vs acceptable sacrifices. In the Bible reading today, Aaron and his sons commenced their service as priests unto the Lord before the people of Israel. They went through the procedures of offering the respective sacrifices as God had commanded Moses. Then God looked upon the sacrifices and his glory came down and a fire consumed the burnt offering. There are a couple of other examples in the Bible where God’s fire of acceptance on the sacrifice offered made the difference as we see in the case of Noah whose sacrifice after the flood reversed curses and established new covenants between God and mankind. So, as Christians who are on a mission for God whether in the temple or in life’s market place, you need to ask yourself if you are just going through the motions or if your sacrifice is acceptable by God. His presence and blessings on your sacrifice of service makes the difference. One of his criteria of acceptance is the heart behind the sacrifice. Is it coming from a place of total surrender to his will or is it just to check the box? Our God cannot be deceived.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you are the giver of life and everything within it. Lord thank you for the privilege to be your ambassador in life’s marketplace. Please Lord, let my words, meditation, service and sacrifice be acceptable unto you. Let your glory come as an evidence of your acceptance in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
