There is safety in God's will
“So they did eat, and were well filled: For he gave them their own desire; They were not estranged from their lust. But while their meat was yet in their mouths, The wrath of God came upon them, and slew the fattest of them, And smote down the chosen men of Israel.” Psalm 78:29-31 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/psa.78.29-31.kjv

Your desire or God’s will? The Bible tells us that there is a way that seems right to a man but at the end of such is destruction. Often, we spend time complaining about the things that we want whereas God has made provisions for what we need. In the Bible reading today, we are reminded of how the Israelites complained constantly about needing meat in the wilderness almost to the point of second-guessing God’s ability to provide. Well, God ‘stepped into the situation’ and provided meat for them in the most miraculous ways. Oh what a great testimony it would have been at that time. ‘God had finally met their needs’ but while they were yet eating the meat, God’s wrath was upon them and a number of them died. We need to be careful as children of God of reducing God’s capabilities to that one thing or set of things that we have been looking for and he has not given. The Israelites were so consumed with what they wanted that all the mighty miracles that God had done to that point made no meaning to them. Examine your hearts today. Are there requests that have so consumed you that you are questioning the ability of the creator of the heaven and earth who daily loads us with benefits, most importantly the gift of life and the assurance of his presence? Repent and retrace your ways. Remember, God makes all things beautiful in its time. The Israelites were going to a land filled with milk and honey and all sorts of fatness but they were in a hurry for meat and it consumed them. Wait on God and journey with him. He will come through for you in uncommon ways with blessings that last, laced with his pleasures.
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you are the all-sufficient, all-powerful and all-knowing God. I ask for repentance for every time that I may have doubted your ability in the past. Please have mercy on me. Lead me by your love and truth and let your presence be with me in the journey of life to grant me unlimited victory 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
