Trust in God's instructions
“Therefore now, O LORD, take, I beseech thee, my life from me; for it is better for me to die than to live. Then said the LORD, Doest thou well to be angry? So Jonah went out of the city, and sat on the east side of the city, and there made him a booth, and sat under it in the shadow, till he might see what would become of the city.” Jonah 4:3-5 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/jon.4.3-4.kjv

God’s ways are not our ways. The number one assignment of the messenger of God is to carry out his instructions regardless of how it comes across. In today’s Bible reading, Jonah was upset with God. He recalled all the hassles that he went through because he initially did not go on God’s assignment to proclaim woe on Nineveh. He was angry because he came back and did as was instructed and yet when the people of the city pleaded with God, he changed his mind about destroying their city. He was angry because he thought that it was all for nothing. He missed out on the narrative of the immense joy in heaven of the number of sinners that were restored back to the kingdom because of that proclamation. While he was probably angry about his seemingly bruised credibility because what he had declared as a prophet did not come to pass, God was happy that so many souls have come back into fellowship with their maker as intended. As a child of God on a kingdom assignment, never profile God. The ultimate destination of some assignments that we receive may be radically different than we imagined. Learn to trust his instructions and verdict completely.
