Victim by association?

“And Er, Judah's firstborn, was wicked in the sight of the Lord; and the Lord slew him. And Judah said unto Onan, Go in unto thy brother's wife, and marry her, and raise up seed to thy brother……..And the thing which he did displeased the Lord: wherefore he slew him also. Then said Judah to Tamar his daughter in law, Remain a widow at thy father's house, till Shelah my son be grown: for he said, Lest peradventure he die also, as his brethren did. And Tamar went and dwelt in her father's house.” Genesis 38:7-8, 10-11 KJV https://www.bible.com/1/gen.38.7-8,10-11.kjv

Victim by association?

Victim by association. In the chapter in today’s reading, Judah’s son Er who was Tamar’s husband displeased God and he was slain. His younger brother was asked to take Tamar for a wife and he again tried to be smart and not give her a child as would have been customary. Again God slew Onan. The conclusion by their Father was that there was probably something wrong with Tamar and she was to return to her father’s house until later. He could not afford to have another son die. She had become labeled for the things that she knew nothing about… Sometimes some things happen to some individuals and it starts to look like a pattern in their lives whereas they have only been victims of the associations and relationships that they are in. Some spouses have seen serious challenges, even up to loss of children as a result of heinous crimes that their spouses have committed even before they met them. Are you going through some challenges today and you are convinced that it’s not because of your sin, ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes to the root cause and prayerfully deal with such. Also, before entering into a relationship (physical, marital, business) you must be prayerful so as not to become a victim by association

Prayer: Dear God, in any way that I may be suffering challenges as a result of my associations, please deliver me by your mercy in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
