What does God expect from you?

“Wherewith shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old? Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?” Micah 6:6-8 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/mic.6.6-8.kjv

What does God expect from you?

Often, we are faced with the question of what God requires of us as his children. The psalmist provides a hint by saying “For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: Thou delightest not in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: A broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.”. God is more interested in the sacrifice of our ‘be-ing’ first before the ‘do-ing’. This is corroborated in today’s Bible reading where the question of whether or not to come before the Lord with a large offering to please him is asked followed by the realization that the Lord’s expectation is to do justly, love mercy and to walk humbly with God. So, the question today is.. Have you identified the priority of God’s expectations for you? So that you don’t major on the minor and lose sight of the core critical expectation of living.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your faithfulness always and your love towards us. Thank you for your vested interest in having a relationship with us your creation. Please Lord open my eyes and hearts to know your will per time in my life so that I can pass the expectations of living life according to your will. So help me God 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
