What gives you joy?
“Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: but let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.” Jeremiah 9:23-24 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/jer.9.23-24.kjv

What’s your source of joy? Is it triggered by temporary things like riches and accomplishments? Or is it driven by the eternal connection and a hope of a future of rejoicing in God? In the Bible reading today, we are informed that a wise person should not glory in their riches but in the knowledge of God the maker of heaven and earth. The Bible tells us that God’s ways are not our ways and so if we have the privilege to peek into the heart of the owner of the heaven and earth and understand his ways then we can rest assured that our future is secure and so therefore comes the joy for the wise person. So once again, what is the source of your joy?
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for being our help in ages past. Thank you for all the love that you show to us. Thank you for the continual open invitation to worship and fellowship. Please Lord, help me to know you more so that I can experience the true joy that comes from a divinely-guided life always 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
