What is your response?

“On the seventh day, when the heart of the king was merry with wine, he commanded Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, and Abagtha, Zethar, and Carcas, the seven chamberlains that served in the presence of Ahasuerus the king, to bring Vashti the queen before the king with the crown royal, to shew the people and the princes her beauty: for she was fair to look on. But the queen Vashti refused to come at the king's commandment by his chamberlains: therefore was the king very wroth, and his anger burned in him.” Esther 1:10-12 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/est.1.10-12.kjv

What is your response?

Always recognize and prioritize the source of your authority. Jesus tells us in the Bible that he is the vine and we are the branches and as a result we cannot do anything without him. Sometimes, the accolades that come from authority, even spiritual, makes the individual forget that the source of it all is God and he must be prioritized. In the Bible reading today, we saw how queen Vashti refused the request of the king to come to show her off to the princes and this made the king angry. She probably failed to remember that all those that held her in esteem did that because of the derived authority of the king. She lost that authority as a result of her actions. So, as an endowed child of God, God is always looking for opportunities to show forth his glory through us. The questions is.. Are you responding to his call? Or are you prioritizing the gift over the giver?

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your faithfulness always. Thank you for daily loading me with your benefits. Please Lord, always bring to my remembrance that all I have derives from you. Let me never get carried away. Help me to please you always in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
