What keeps you going?

“O LORD, thou knowest: remember me, and visit me, and revenge me of my persecutors; take me not away in thy longsuffering: know that for thy sake I have suffered rebuke. Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.” Jeremiah 15:15-16 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/jer.15.15-16.kjv

What keeps you going?

Where does your joy and strength come from? Is it from the validation of the people or the endorsement of heaven? Sometimes in the bid to be accepted by men, we often trade off the primary thing - Our relationship with God. We either put God on the back burner for now or outrightly go against his instructions. That is a deadly choice. The Bible reading today acknowledged the challenges that the prophet Jeremiah was going through from being persecuted by the people but them despite all he had joy because he found God’s word as a source of strength and sustenance. He rejoiced because he was called by God’s name.  So again, what’s the source of your joy? Temporary pleasures and recognitions or the eternal joy of being dear to God’s heart and a future of bliss in eternity?

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for your word  always. Thank you for reminding me of the priorities for existence. Please Lord give me the grace for focus. Let me not be distracted from you Lord as the author and finisher of my faith. Let my life benefit from the divine guidance that comes from a true relationship with you 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
