Who are the Lots in your company?

”And they took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their victuals, and went their way. And they took Lot, Abram's brother's son, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed. And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan.“ Genesis 14:11-12, 14 KJV https://bible.com/bible/1/gen.14.11-14.kjv

Your associations matter. The Bible says that there is a way that seems right to a man but at the end is destruction. In today’s Bible reading, the land of Sodom and Gomorrah that looked flourishing to Lot at the time of his separation from Abraham was under siege and Lot had now been taken captive. Thank God for divine intervention and Abraham was able to go after then and recover all for the sake of Lot. However upon return, the king of Sodom offered Abraham all the goods and that he should return only the people.  However, Abraham was careful of his association and refused the gifts because he said he did not want it to be said later that they made him rich. We need to be intentional about the associations that we keep because the Bible tells us that the companion of the wise would be wise and the companion of fools will be destroyed. We know that eventually when the Lord himself rose up against Sodom and Gomorrah, Lot had to leave behind all his belongings and barely escaped with his daughters. Be sensitive in your associations.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you because you are a righteous father and cannot behold iniquities. Thank you because you are indeed the father of light. Please Lord, please shine your light on any associations that are not appropriate for my growth spiritually and in all aspects of life. Let your light guide my steps and path always in Jesus name 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾. ‎
